Good evening of developing! Testing out the 10 sheet version of my 4x5 tilted drying rack too!

2 sheets of Ortho, 2 of IR 400, and 1 J Lane speed plate.

Speaking of, @pictoriographica.bsky.social hope more plates are coming soon!?

I've had folks asking me when am I going to make a scanning solution for the CS Lite like I have for the Raleno S116 and well...

Freshly lasered 2nd 11x14 prototype base. This one has additional paper markings. I need to make sure they don't print through but the idea is being able to use the same base with multiple paper sizes by having different sized tops.

Testing out our laser cut 11x14 easel! I made both an RC and fiber print with it last night. Works great!

Another update on the 11x14 easel. 3D printed parts printed. Parts and magnets attached. Ready to for testing!

So far my favorite photo (of the ones I've developed) from our trip to Cozumel last week.

Taken with a Nikonos V with the 15mm lens using T-Max 400 and developed in XT-3 replenished.

Really excited to print this one properly in the darkroom!

My latest 11x14 prototype easel base using 1/4" MDF. The thicker MDF is to add heft to the base - it worked! I need to tweak the 3D printed parts for the thicker base among other things but progress was made tonight!

First round of black and white film from our scuba trip to Cozumel drying! Negatives look good by eye - glad I did the film tests.

Nailed it! Only had to do one film test for T-Max 400 in my XT-3 Replenishment. For me, 9:15 is basically spot on. I even got within reach of calculating ISO (392). I've never gotten that close on the first try!

Heading to blue water for some diving with the Nikonos V! See ya'll in a week!

A small tease :) I suspect 11x14/12x16 will require additional tweaks, but this is the CAD for what the 8x10 design looks like simply scaled up to 12x16 dimensions.

One likely change is the location of the finger notches since it's easier to pull the top up from the long side.

Here's the 8x10 Snapsel prototype! It was a success for both RC and fiber papers, though fiber does require a different approach. There are some small changes I'll want to make but I think the basic design and approach is good. 11x14 here we come!

Friday prototype tease! This is the CAD of what will hopefully turn into the first 8x10 Snapsel (working name). The dark grey bits are the 3D printed parts. Hope to make a prototype this weekend as I work my way up to 11x14+

Here's my setup last night and the resulting prints using my prototype easel! The "snap" is very satisfying! At least in 5x7, fiber is doable. Perfect? No, but usable, definitely. Next step is 8x10!

Update on the Woodsel! Pretty happy with the design changes so next step is using it to make some actual darkroom prints (RC for sure, but also am going to evaluate fiber too). If it works as I'm hoping, then I can scale it up to the larger sizes.

Given my tease yesterday, here's another hint as to what Dektronics sent me yesterday. These are 2 H&D curves from the same test negative. What is the difference you might ask? Here's another hint: 510 Pyro.

Look what arrived yesterday! It's a Printalyzer Densitometer from #Dektronics ! But don't I already have one of his excellent densitometers? I do! But this one is different. Look closely!

More info soon!

A little tease for you @olu-gh.bsky.social ;)

There's two problems I've been needing to solve, which I think I may have solved. I need to make more prototypes to incorporate lessons learned from this one but I'm cautiously optimistic!

Success! No light leaks to be found and I was able to do a more complete test of the 4 sheet 8x10 drying rack! Since I shot doubles, I did one in XT-3 and one in 510-Pyro to compare them both.

Good news: Finally shot something on 8x10 to test my updated 8x10 drying rack! Works well!

Bad news: I ended up with a light leak on the film, I think during development :/

Fortunately it's a photo I take again.

Need to replace the light fixture but, Mrs. BitByBit Photo removed the previous photos from the wall in prep for the Iceland prints, so I decided to see how some of my test prints looked.

Originals were 4x5 slide, so had my lab print them in RA4 and inkjet options.

Working on a new lens case design! I was trying to avoid using ABS plastic but it provides the best quality and heat tolerance. I'll be testing PCTG soon but I suspect for these, ABS is going to be the best option for now.

Photos from Tom's memorial trip with Dive Masters. Heading back to Cozumel in July and was digging through photos to help decide what film stocks to bring. Found I had the best success for color with Portra 800 (for BW, Silvermax).
