I successfully grew a loofah gourd, in my fourth year trying.
A long, green vegetable, looks somewhere between a zucchini and a bitter melon, peeled about two-thirds of the way down, exposing the pale, fibrous interior. When it dries out, it’ll be one of those sponges people use to scrub and exfoliate.
