A Reddit post documenting the firing of three senior educators at Tracy Aviary that says “what is going on at Tracy Aviary?? There’s been some recent news surrounding the aviary after several members have been fired, two of the workers that were fired are in the LGBTQ+ community including one of the educators who was fired is pregnant and has worked there 12 years!!!”

Iconic behavior by the SLC community here regarding Tracy Aviary.
Two comments on Tracy aviary’s instagram highlighting a career panel that read: “let’s goooo, good luck filling these when your organization is being run into the ground by management. I think this place needs to “reimagine” it’s leadership. So sad too cause this place means a lot more to the community than just a handful of people who think they run the show. Keep using people and we’ll see how great it plays out. It’s not gonna solve itself by new hires, cause their issue is still there and needs to be addressed. The real problem lies with the current leadership: 🫣🧐😐” and “didn’t you just fire your senior education staff because of budget shortfalls? I’ve heard from numerous ex employees that this is a horrible and abusive workplace who refuses to pay their staff a livable wage, even when they have a master’s degree.”

I ended my employment here at $45,958 dollars after starting here at $14/hour. For context for my qualifications for this pay, I have a masters degree in education and 8 years of experience teaching. This isn’t me being a disgruntled employee, I just believe in people’s right to know. (Redacted) we’re spectacular managers and I was lucky to work with them. They were incredibly communicative to us about our financial goals and needs, and I personally feel like they were not given a real chance to meet their goals. Class 3 of the year is arguably the scariest for me: a 10-week dance class (I haven’t taken a dance class since I was like…5). But it was soooooo fun I am feeling *~*enriched*~*

I’ve been having a kind of garbage work week and have been incredibly frustrated but I got into work today and not one but TWO of my coworkers separately came up to me and told me they found earrings that reminded them of me and I cried 🥹
