During my recent ambulance ride the my local hospital I learned of the acute shortage of EMT's within the CFD. One of the reasons I am told is that the CFD no longer offers a "sing up" bonus to new recruits while candidates for the CPD get a $5,000.00 check.

Today is the 80th Anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi's Auschwitz death camp and today I watched federal officers trolling my neighborhood in Chicago.
In 30 years of public ministry, I never thought I would feel unnerved. Makes me wonder when I will be included in a round up campaign.
