This was the national media - all unabashed #GoldenStates fans. No mention of the #Rockets' stifling defense in the last 3 minutes making them deserving of the win. #SteveKerr whining about the officials when they have been the major beneficiaries of referees' decisions forever.

Don't judge me but these are a few of the hundreds of books on my Google Play Book's #TBR shelf. Some of them I'll start and then drop if I don't like them, some I'll read to the end. Some I'll alternate with audiobooks on my libby app that I'll check out from the library.

Driving Medicare towards preventive medicine actually seems like a good idea. Reduce the need for expensive surgeries by taking care of the issue before they become too serious. We'll have to see, however, if/how this good idea is corrupted by the lobbyists in the pay of insurance industry.

My reading journey in 2023 took me through more than 50 books completed, with close to 20,000 pages read (or, listened to, because most of them were in audiobook format). There were a few more that I tried but just couldn't slog through.

Last week I bought some beautiful mushrooms from the local Asian grocery store. Today I wanted to cook them and I learned something: don't save them for "another day" because they'll turn into black mush and you'll have to throw them away. Enjoy them fast because they have a very short shelf life.
