Milagro. The way she claws at him, pulling him close and burying her face in his shoulder—he’s her safe place, her rock, the only place she really allows herself to be vulnerable and hide. ❤️

Please be serious rn. It’s no contest. Fight the Future is not just the best of the two but a genuinely excellent movie. I Want to Believe has like one good scene (you know the one) but the rest is cold garbage.
(This is the real kiss don’t @ me)

The scene between Scully and Spender in Triangle.
“I want you to do me a favor. It's not negotiable. Either you do it or I kill you. You understand?”

Mulder and Scully Meet the Were-Monster. It really calls back to my favorite, good old-fashioned MOTW episodes that had a strong comedic undertone like Bad Blood, Agua Mala, and X-Cops.

This scene in Redux II, when he comes into her hospital room while she’s asleep, while she’s dying, and sobs silently at her bedside. I hate the cancer arc for my own reasons but this scene is heartbreakingly beautiful. He loves her so much. He won’t make it without her.

I hate all of season 9. All of it. The only salvageable part of the whole damn thing, in my opinion, is the last 20 minutes of the season 9 finale. Also, GA was fine as HELL that season. But that is all.

This one is the first that pops to mind.

DeadAlive. Scully’s profound love and cracked, broken, desperate hope is palpable. If you’ve lost someone close to you, you know how you spend days bargaining with God, begging Him to bring your person back. And for Scully, it happens. She’s whole again.

X-Cops. I feel like people were sleeping on this episode for a long time but it’s funny!

Donnie Pfaster. Devil or not, I love how banally evil he is. There’s no great supernatural story here, really—just an evil man doing evil things because he likes to. You probably pass one every day in the store or on the sidewalk and have no idea. THAT’s horror.

Marita Covarrubias because she’s fine as hell, has serious high-femme power lesbian vibes, and I just love interactions like this:
“Alex, if it was strictly up to me, I’d leave you here to rot, too.”

“How?!”
“Don’t even ask.”

Chinga! I know for most people it’s Bad Blood but the King-penned episode combines two of my absolute favorite things—Stephen King and The X Files. Can’t beat it.

I have more detailed memories about Scully/Reyes fanfic I’ve read than I do about Reyes’ actual role in the show 🤣 I love her very Melissa-like woo woo vibe though.

Paper Hearts. Tom Noonan is so wonderfully hate-able as Roche, and the depth of Mulder’s commitment to the case borders on madness. It’s his most endearing quality.

I honestly cannot think of a single one off the top of my head . I’ve only watched seasons 8 and 9 all the way through once, and only MSR episodes more than once, so I have very little exposure to him. Sorry Doggett lovers, if you exist. He would hate us anyway lol

What can I say, I’m a hopeless romantic. Best series finale ever. (Don’t talk to me.)

Clyde Bruckman’s Final Repose. Also my favorite episode of the entire series. It’s just so good.
