Birkenhead is one of the most socially deprived constituencies in the country. It has always been a Labour stronghold. Polls suggest that it may go Green at the next election. Amazing if it happens.

One of the lads in the Rose & Crown darts team was a Sports Instructor at The Oval. He got a role as a Swedish javelin thrower.

I had two nights there. Not a huge number of decent pubs but I drank some good beers. I was going to visit a GBG pub, but when I saw that it was ½ mile up a ridiculously steep road, I changed my mind.
