That’s right. Sixty million! Keep your cats happy, healthy and indoors.
A new estimate of number of birds killed by cats in Canada was just published: https://ace-eco.org/vol20/iss2/art12/

Congratulations and thank you to all authors including ECCC authors, Elizabeth Gow (co-supervisor of PhD student, Jonathan Chu), Julie Bourque and Christian Roy for this work.

The @ward2hamilton team understand the importance of birds and their essential role in biodiversity. Plus, we had a blast!
Thanks to Barry from @birdsonghamilton.bsky.social for taking the Ward 2 Team birding this afternoon. We saw 29 species of birds at Bayfront Park (sorry, no telephoto lens). My favourite was definitely the Eastern Phoebe but there were lots of mockingbirds and yellow rumped warblers. #HamOnt

Hamilton has taken a huge step backwards with the delayed implementation of the Green Building Standards. The GBS includes bird-friendly measures. See yesterday's Spectator for the story. #birdfriendly #birds #hamont @hamiltonnature.org

1) Ford to FLAP?!!!
The good people of Ontario are receiving $200 from Doug Ford. Grocery bills alone are a challenge for so many but can you spare some of that $200 to help out a favourite charity. We feel that FLAP Canada is worthy of your consideration.
