ive found the most support patterning-wise comes from taking in the underbust + side bust as much as possible, and leaving room up top for the bust to go. this basically turns it into a bra by scooping everything upwards and in front

the birth of a bustier book doesnt talk tooo much about patterning for fuller busts iirc, i can send it along in the morning though!
i also don't fully agree with its suggested boning layout in terms of full bust support, i've found the jhart layout way more effective

morpho is a really good collection of books for learning! it helps break down the body into a set of general "rules" / shapes that make it a lot easier to draw with or without ref
i never regret drawing with a ref / making a ref though, it makes things so much faster
