🌌 Always special seeing Storm Petrels up close ✨
A session at @calfofmanbirdobs.bsky.social on Wednesday night under a bright moon produced 7 new birds plus a retrap from last year.

Last night the Calf team headed out into the night for a Manx Shearwater ringing session. Always a privilege to see these birds up close, and to meet some proper ‘Manx Manxies’ 😁 6 new and 8 retraps (incl a control).

Good to get to know the locals!
Last night the Calf team headed out into the night for a Manx Shearwater ringing session. Always a privilege to see these birds up close, and to meet some proper ‘Manx Manxies’ 😁 6 new and 8 retraps (incl a control).

Kitting up to head to the Calf of Man Bird Obs for the 2025 season means an excuse for new shoes… a stark contrast against a pair that have seen many miles and spent a season in a seabird colony @bardseybirdobs.bsky.social 😅 here’s to even more adventures in the newbies!
