Freaking BIble Belt deep-red Kansas and Missouri voted to codify reproductive freedom in the state constitutions. Absolutely not unwinnable terrain, and too many vulnerable people there for us just to turn our backs on them.

And how many of those folks were just there to see big vroom-vroom boom-boom machines?

Don't forget he pardoned all the "RIOTS [sic] AND LOOTERS" who vandalized the Capitol.

That whole thing about unequal power creating two groups--one of which the law protects but doesn't bind, and the other whom the law binds but doesn't protect--comes to mind here.

I mean there's not much more than that level of thought given to everything in the current US administration. "Ooh, makes Teh Libs cry AND fattens my wallet? HELL YES! With sprinkles."

So much for their purported strong support of "Stand Your Ground" laws. Or any law, for that matter.

My husband has worked in local government for over 25 years and routinely has to deal with wealthy, entitled landowners who take it as read that his office is "hiding something" or trying to cheat them. The emergence of entitled MAGA was not a surprise.

US politics has basically BECOME a giant reality show, except with consequences we *all* feel in *actual* reality.
