Lots of people work in the same building as their boss. 🤷

I share a nanny with my neighbor. She works from home and Im hybrid. We have a great relationship with our nanny and we get to see our kids more than the average working parent. Leaving my 6 month old 45 hours a week was nightmare fuel.

And if anyone asks me to remove the giant eucalyptus touching my house that is TYRANNY.

I thought Utah was better than this after they passed balcony solar. 😢

I'm not sure I'd feel more hopeful if I thought our biggest issues were extremely easy to solve but we just choose not to. I think that would make me feel very angry.

I definitely agree with all that. I could be wrong but it seems like hiring Choudri for HSR was a good pick though, the project seems better managed under him but I'm not an expert.

Universal pre k and the CalRx program are good accomplishments imo. His failure to deliver on housing is huge though.

Universal pre k. CalRx (California generic drugs, 13 dollar insulin).

Well the event was planned poorly logistics wise. There was no public transit to the event and parking was a nightmare. I left hours early and still couldn't make it in time. Traffic was backed up onto 101.

Who is saying that? I always thought the decision to start in the central valley came down to winning their votes for the project and money. Federal grants needed to be spent in the central valley and State money was tied up for years with law suits.

My city just published a webpage where you can see several pre approved prefab ADUs they allow you to just plop in your backyard. No way that would have happened without state laws.

I think prop 15 would pass if it was on the ballot again but I don't think we will ever successfully get rid of it for primary residences unless home ownership rates drop even more significantly. Imo we should focus on getting rid of it for commercial, for second homes, for investment property, etc

A phase out wouldn't pass. Mention prop 13 in any normie space and most Californians love it. Prop 13 got mentioned in a local fb moms group im in and tons of people defended it, even renters defended subsidizing their landlords. It's insane. I live in a super progressive part of the state too.

The school and district, not state senators, are responsible for student disciple and communicating with the classmates and community. These are still minors and the best way to keep the community safe is through restorative justice and deradicalization, not internet mobs. Scott did the right thing.

Josh Barro is openly gay and married to a man so I don't think he would give you 10 dollars.

I unsubscribed to The Argument after that article.

Have you no compassion for the landed gentry of NYC? 😢

I live in the bay area of California and people burn wood when it's 65 degrees out. It drives me insane.

And if you suggest maybe we should not do that, you apparently want all the neighborhood Grandmas to freeze to death in their 3 million dollar historic homes.

It's got great public transportation (by US standards) for a city of it's size and pretty nice park space thanks to hosting the world fair. But yeah, still lots of homelessness, lots of drugs, lots of poverty. I go back regularly, parts of the downtown area got pretty bad around 2020-2022.

Spokane is my home town and it's grown so so much since I left. It's also super yimby.

Very disappointed that we didn't get senator Wiener's permitting reform passed this year, even the watered down version for high speed rail.

I sent the video to my trump supporting family. I knew they wouldn't even see it if I didn't. They are still old school Republicans that like to pretend Trump hasn't fundamentally changed the party.

Why so we need even more public comment on this? There was public comment on the legislation that mandated the working group. Can't we just copy Seattle already. 😩
