Yesterday, in Halifax, a plaque was unveiled to the memory of Andrew Watson, the first black international football player. His mother, Hannah Rose, was Guyanese, born into slavery. His father, Peter Miller Watson was born in Orkney, of a prominent landowning family. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Viv Anderson, the first Black footballer to play for England, unveils a plaque dedicated to the first Black player to play for Scotland. The Andrew Watson Memorial Plaque at Crossley Heath School, Halifax. #R_McBrearty also entertained the pupils with a vibrant talk about Watson.
