This is what made TAS so good imo. The villains were more often than not sympathetic people with relatable problems, and Batman would often treat them with respect.

I get what you’re saying with interest, but consider also that by not incurring taxes on the principal of the loans that is immediately invested, the borrower is able to grow that amount (in the case of real estate, via the property’s appreciation in value). But yeah, the loans aren’t free.

I’m not being facetious, this is literally how real estate moguls do business. Just constantly leveraging their real property as collateral for loan after loan.
