Last week's extraordinary platforming of xenophobia, including in New Zealand's parliament by the country's Deputy PM, and Foreign Minister Winston Peters demanded a study of the harms targeting Green MP Ricardo Menéndez March. With ⅔ of govt whipping up hate, potential for spillover violence high.

Astonishingly, 2/3rds of New Zealand’s ruling coalition is now openly whipping up hate, and harms including xenophobia, and racism with unbridled speed, and scale. Meanwhile, PM Christopher Luxon’s inability or unwillingness to rein in his two coalition partners is a license for violative rhetoric to flourish, already resulting in an unprecedented diplomatic incident, and more worryingly, threatening to spill over into offline violence.
