I bought a book of poetry on pregnancy loss, and it has helped me feel seen. It’s been cathartic, and devastatingly sad, and necessary.

Three weeks ago, I had a miscarriage. I was 10 weeks pregnant.
We are devastated. This is the deepest and most profound sadness I have ever experienced. At our 8 week ultrasound, everything was perfect- we’d started calling baby-to-be our little pollywog. We are mourning this lost love.

Can someone explain the end piece to me? The installer added it to cover the end of the stair treads. Says it’s done as is. Looks terrible.

Any interior designers out there willing to help me out? Our new living room has a weird layout. I have no idea what to do! Issues: the blue carpet is covering subfloor (can change but no wood floor beneath), unsure how to make 2 spaces feel like one (builtins?), wtf do I do with tv, wall color? 1/2

This highly collaborative work involved data from 10 range countries. Based on mtDNA variation, #snowleopards in High Asia show a lack of phylogeographic structure, with genetic lineages indicating a single refugial origin via a climate refugium in the TPHK mountain system.

I made four loaves of sourdough this weekend. Best three in order: garlic and morel-infused cheese; plain sourdough, and brown sugar cinnamon. Proofing a fifth one now to be rolled with garlic and blue cheese olives. I can’t stop!

Today we went huckleberry picking and Rio had the WORST time. He hated sitting still. The berries weren’t interesting. Mom and dad weren’t paying attention to him. The ruffed grouse that got too close weren’t interesting. The sky sprinkled water on him. He wasn’t tired. 0/10 would not repeat.

Life update! Last week I started a new job at the National Genomics Center for Wildlife and Fish Conservation! I’ll be focusing on conservation genomics methodologies for (mostly) carnivores. I’ll be continuing to work on snow leopards, and add in other cool species including Italian wolves!
