Her presentation was part of the session “Advanced Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering for Effective Implant Infection Treatment” chairs by our partners Andrea Cochis, from the Università degli Studi del Piemonte Orientale, and Giovanna Gomez D'ayala from IPCB-CNR. 🇪🇺

She explained how she and her team at CNR-IPCB are “developing hydrogels containing bioactive solid signals to enhance bone regeneration. These hydrogels will be further enriched with genetic carriers that will turn biofilm-associated bacteria into a bio-factory for tissue regeneration.” 🦴🔄

Mariangela is a research fellow at Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche’s Institute of Biological Systems, where she and her team are developing these complex liposomes to delivery genetic material to bacteria (implant infections) to transform them into bio-factories for tissue regeneration! 🇪🇺
