I made another pink hibiscus dye bath with an alkaline modifier. Didn't love the color that came out ("dirty linen" beige) so I combined that bath with the leftover pokeberry bath and dyed them again.
Left is "second steep" pokeberry, right is second steep hibiscus+pokeberry.

Right now I'm prepping a foraged pokeberry dye bath. I finally got rubber gloves for handling this one since pokeberry is poisonous and the toxins can absorb thru the skin. Really looking forward to seeing what color comes out though 💭

Took photos in the sunlight! Hank #2 cooled into a pale turquoise. I've heard acid modifiers like vinegar tend to bring out pinks and purples, whereas alkaline modifiers like baking soda bring out blues. Curious to see what color might come out if I try to repeat #2 with alkaline instead of acid
