If you have the evidence I’m sure it probably wouldn’t go that far. But even talking to a solicitor can really help, it did me.

I pursued CD and in the end I settled without it going to Tribunal. It was a costly affair for them but it didn’t stop doing it to others.

Sadly my mental health will never be what it was, I just now live trying to keep the black dog at bay. But I’m so much happier than when I was there. It’s like the boiling frog thing, it happens so slowly you just don’t realise how bad you are treated until eventually your brain just goes.

I had a meeting with my boss when he told me I wasn’t a team player (it was also the day he told me he wanted me to go to Lurgan) – that was the day my wife went to the hospital on her own to be told we could never have children, I didn’t attend because I couldn’t bring myself to miss the meeting.

My bosses solution to my mental health issues was to move me from my store which was 12 miles away to a store 32 miles away! He tried to make me go to Lurgan, but I said no, no, no! I never went back, after 22 years with the company I realised my mental health was too important.

Don’t be rushing back!!! I was in a similar position many years ago — I spent 6 months not being able to get out of bed as a result. I hadn’t had a single sick day during the previous 8 years under him. Don’t let it get to that.

So yeah, you’re right that the word “paedophile” shouldn’t be stretched to cover every situation — but the behaviour itself can still be predatory, coercive, or criminal even if it doesn’t meet that specific clinical definition.

But that doesn’t make sex with a 16–17 year old automatically benign — it’s still an abuse of power, and in a lot of cases it’s illegal or classed as statutory rape for a reason. The harm comes from the imbalance and exploitation, not just the age category it falls into.

I get what you’re trying to distinguish, but it’s worth keeping the terms straight. “Paedophilia” is a clinical label for adults attracted to pre-pubescent children, so it’s not the right word for 16–17 year olds.

I’ve certainly had a few of those. As for the beans, I have actually tried them, and can confirm they are boggin, I think it’s a texture thing, although I don’t like bean juice touching anything if they are served to me 🥸
