I did manage to find a few other mentions of Driver Howie in the British Newspaper Archive, including a death report in the Kilsyth Chronicle, 7 Sep 1917, and identical "in memoriam" entries in the Kilsyth Chronicle and the Kirkintilloch Gazette, 14 Sep 1917; en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castlec...

I'm not certain whether this helps that much with linking to the other records, but there is a "Howie, 7741, Dvr. D. A. (Glasgow)" in lists published in the Scotsman and in the Weekly Casualty List during September 1917; both via the British Newspaper Archive
