Rad pride was a huge success! Thank you so much to everyone who donated cash and binders and to those who checked us out and were willing to hear us out on what we do. The next event we will be tabling at is the
D.I.Y. Trans Pride fest!on Saturday July 12th behind Speed’s Autobody from 3pm-pm. ALL AGES $15 donation suggested but no one turned away for lack of funds! Funraising for Healthcare and moving costs for trans folks in eastern and southern US.

Alternative #2 - TransTape can also be a good alternative as it is better for exercise/mobility, however it is not as helpful for folks with larger chests. Sidenote: TransTape can also assist folks with a larger chest fit into their plate carriers properly.

Alternative #1 - While you may feel most comfortable with your body while wearing a binder versus a bra, a compression sports bra can be a good alternative. It still reduces your chest size, and is designed for exercising.

What if you still wear a binder? - If you wear a binder at a protest, you'll have a more difficult time moving, running, and maintaining your breathing. If you get hurt, medics will be significantly delayed in beginning aid while they attempt to remove it, and will likely cut/damage your binder to get to you. If you're arrested your binder will either be confiscated or you'll be stuck wearing it longer than the amount of time considered safe to wear. Receiving medical aid - Binders MUST be removed when doing chest compressions for CPR or applying AED pads. Because a binder is tight and restrictive, it limits your chests ability to recoil, thus limiting the blood that can flow back into your heart. Binders are also incredibility difficult to remove, impacting life-saving treatment to your torso.

Exhaustion and physical limitations - binding impacts your ability to breathe in intense situations. Running to keep up with a group (or outrun someone) as well as breathing while surrounded by chemical weapons can compound into a more difficult time than it otherwise would be. *You're not supposed to be wearing a binder if you plan to be exercising or physically exerting yourself anyways.

wearing a binder at a protest puts you at increased risk. Wearing a binder at a protest puts you at risk of physical limitations, exhaustion, delays in recieving proper medical aid, and a chance that your binder will be damaged/destroyed.
