But guess what? there are TONs and TONs of natural resources in Greenland that, I'm sure the USA would love to "liberate". And as we already saw, Trump's USA care for international law a lot less than it care for its own.

There are tons of radars to detect ICBMs (a.k.a really big missiles). The USA will not deploy an ICBM base on Greenland, it would be the reverse of the Cuban missile crisis in 1962. If Russia/China launches ICBMs in the first place or as a response... well... shame on us.

The EU is in a tricky situation. They aligned with the USA when they didn't recognize Venezuela's presidential election, so now they are unable to say "You kidnapped the president of a country". Nevertheless they pushed back to some extent and perhaps triggered this new tension in the process.

An inflection point in WWII was when Germany decided to violate the non-aggression treaty with the USSR, it opened a war on two fronts. Even when the USA is downplaying its aggression to Venezuela, it is clear they opened that front (and they did it without even whispering about it).
