Same, a good part of my life was spent on small dirty mattresses but I didn't think much of it and still don't cause I'm just glad I got one at all. Still on my twin I've had since I was 6 when at my dad's before then I was just on the floor for a few months

Also beds! Went without one for a while so when I finally got one again it felt like heaven and I was so grateful for it
