That's a bit like the premium version though. If you cant afford to pay a person, the novel explains that you can always use the free algorithm.
I'm sure however that in a real world application of that, the free version, all of the failings of modern social media can be expected (see Zuboff).

Slop & BS are naturally pumped onto the web, & because of circumstances du jour, are spilling into unplugged life too. To keep that spillage in accordance with a persons preferences, a sort of manual filter bubble is enacted by paid employees, sifting through your feeds.
