I remember Kaleb Horton being excited when Jimmy Cliff played the Cascade Theater in Redding CA (August 2014). Artists like Cliff rarely played up there & Kaleb posted these images

Love it! On my shelf in between Bon Jovi & Booker T. & the M.G.’s :/

I knew Cold Turkey was released while Come Together/Something was climbing the US charts, but I never realized it peaked in 1970.

The east coast pressing (“STEREO” on left) is notorious for skipping in a spot due to hot mastering. The Los Angeles pressing (“STEREO” on right) plays through

Love it! Here’s our church directory photo circa 1973-1974 #AT40

I was happy for Marvin when Sexual Healing became a big hit, peaking at #3 on #AT40 behind Toto’s Africa & Men At Work’s Down Under. I still cannot believe it was his only appearance on the Hot 100 in the 1980s

Steve Miller’s Greatest Hits 1974-1978 (a fave) left me with a few thoughts

Featuring The Joker, why 1974 instead of 1973?

14 tracks on this GH album but was nothing from the #1 album The Joker beyond the title track worthy?

Other 13 GH tracks from 1976-1977 LPs Fly..Eagle & Book..Dreams #AT40

Pretty cool hearing Ray Davies, Tom Jones & Roger Daltry in the same #AT40 countdown and knowing they’re all still with us

Mashmakhan drummer Jerry Mercer (pictured on the right) would go on to have some #AT40 hits with April Wine

That’s cool! I was also at Universal the summer of ‘77. I loved this Six Million Dollar Man bionic van lift

I’ll never forget watching this on the ABC Sunday Night Movie and my 16 year old sister screeching in disappointing: Hutch!?

Oh & one of my greatest thrills was when Christopher Cross quote tweeted my photo from 2022 (can’t load anything from him more than 3 years ago). Sadly two guys on this stage, Joey Molland from Badfinger & Denny Laine from Wings, have since passed. BTW, Jason Sheff & Todd Rundgren are on the right

Also, if you want to give TMBG beyond Flood another chance, their “A User’s Guide” is a great compilation. It probably has the best incorporation of a bar code into the artwork. The length of each line corresponds to the length of the track. (1st & last tracks are both under a minute)

Another excellent episode!!
Thanks for the shoutout! I can’t believe I forgot one of my favorites from 10 years ago: Zombies playing Odessey & Oracle. (Susana Hoffs played during soundcheck). They even reformed the original band (w/o Paul Atkinson who had passed) and sounded amazing.

Same! I wonder why Kings Of Leon’s Aha Shake Heartbreak was not on the recall list

I’m really saddened to hear about the passing of Todd Snider. He was great live & I always wished that would generate more interest in his albums. R.I.P.

Stuck at #2 behind Grease for two weeks

Also a big fan of the John Curulewski era, but don’t think I would’ve become a super fan without Tommy

Or imagine End Of The Century produced by David Foster instead of Phil (Spector)

In 1981 Janice-Marie Johnson believed strongly that Taste Of Honey’s Sukiyaki would be a hit. The head of Capitol Records fought, claiming no one wanted to hear it. He only agreed to put it on the LP when JMJ relinquished credit for the English lyrics she wrote. (Capitol owned the publishing) #AT40

I was still 9 years old. Bottom row second from the left. In many ways it doesn’t seem that long ago until I realize what’s happened since…

This countdown was just 3 weeks before I heard my first #AT40
