I love how Kevin Brockmeier kicks off this Bomb interview with a hypothesis... Two ways to tell a story, daytime logic vs nighttime logic - both logical, but one insisting that 1 + 1 = 2 (daytime) and the other (nighttime) being logical and emotional yet resistant of understanding.

Has anyone read Kundera's Unbearable Lightness of Being anytime recently? The 6th chapter defines kitsch as the 'absolute and total denial of shit'. He traces the use of kitsch in the left and right of communist Prague's situation in the 80s. It's a stunning re-read right now.
