This, plus being stuck with the canon of the previous three terrible movies and sticking with the, "people are bored by real dinosaurs, we need hybrids/mutants," routine. All things I feel were probably forced on them by higher ups.

I think the main issue is they were only given a year to make it. It definitely feels rushed.

God, the "random celebrity was replaced by a clone" stuff really drives me insane. Do they not get that people's bodies change over time? It's called aging, people. No, Paul McCartney did not secretly die in a car wreck in the 80s or whatever.

Made the mistake of watching this scene for the first time by myself in complete darkness. Had to immediately turn the movie off, turn on all my lights, and go to sleep. Finished the movie the next day. I have never had such a visceral reaction to a movie scene before or since.
