When will these folks realize most of us don't want these new years recaps of a horrible year. We just lived through it, want to forget the trauma, and look ahead optimistically.

I'm a prepper and even preppers laugh at me when I talk about protecting against solar or weaponized EMPs. I think it makes all the sense in the world at a first strike tactic. Leave the infrastructure in place, let the people kill themselves. William Fortschen's One Second After was eye-opening.

There's no record of anyone challenging him on slavery, but the concept of it is against all he passionately advocated for. It was all about giving, loving, humility, forgiveness.

Look, he was shrewd. He said a lot without saying it, using parables. He had to, he was watched and wanted by both the Jews and Romans. He didn't blatantly challenge authority unless put on the spot, as he was when they tried to trap him by asking him if people should pay taxes.

Yes. This is what @altnoaa.bsky.social isn't understanding. This was Jesus' way. Implicit, because explicit would have gotten him killed much sooner. He never condemned homosexuality either, he said we're all God's children and love one another.

Great post as always, Jim! Get well soon and don't wait until Feb for that "me time!" Appreciated the winter blues section, that's me all right.

Neil Young was briefly a Reagan fan way back, before he realized how wrong that was. Cut this kid a break - I think your take is a bit over the top as the other reply showed. As long as he's on our side now, with his big following, he's an ally.

Read the room. Many of us aren't exactly fans of apple and Tim Cook.

Cash in small denominations, silver coins, small gold pamp chips, and enough crypto to get smuggled out or the country if border is closed, or buy banned vaccines or medicine.
