The best thing I did with YouTube is turn off watch history. The “feed” is gone, I only have to deal with my subscriptions and the suggested videos next to what I happen to have on. Watching videos is now deliberate, rather than hours of shorts and more lost time than an alien abduction.

We have driver’s licenses and mandatory driver’s education to get them because so many people didn’t want to bother with learning to drive the cars they bought. I see computers the same way; many people don’t want to learn to use a computer, they just want a box that does stuff.
