I was dreaming of a white Epiphany Sunday in KC. Now I hope I wake up pretty soon and find my brain made it all up.

Over the years I've seen many joyful, meaningful, moving baptisms, but none like today. At Second Presbyterian our pastors (that's associate pastor Dr. Kristin Riegel in the photo) seven children (toddler to teenager) were baptized, all part of a family with roots in the Central African Republic.

All these decades after AIDS showed up in the U.S. and K.C., people still are working to stop its spread and help those infected and affected by it, as evidenced by today's World AIDS Day gather at the Kauffman Foundation.

This kind of snow, experienced where I live in Kansas City this morning, is one reason I no longer live in either Chicagoland or Rochester, N.Y.
