Dan made this for my best friend and I absolutely loved this part where called him out as a “musky elitist” which was absolutely perfect. Pegged him exactly.

You don’t need expensive canning equipment really. I use the water boil method in a tall pot on the stove. You just need to add an acid to lower the pH to kill all the microbes with a 45 min boil. I add a tablespoon of lemon juice to each tomato jar and use vinegar based solution for the hot peppers

💯Just made a double batch of Salsa with my last tomatoes. I also have grown to love canning my mine too for winter Chili. And have been perfecting my hot pepper canning recipe.

Well thankfully it looks like you’re getting a good douse of rain this weekend.

That’s impressive! Here’s my modest DIY setup. I place this vertical greenhouse over a heater grate to leverage our home’s HVAC heating. I found out the hard way to that I need to place the seedling pods in direct sunlight a little bit each day for an hour or so to make hardening easier later on.

Ahh, Nestor Falls. One of the milestones of the drive with the sea plane port. We used to boat out of Sioux Narrows since I was a kid and loved this section. I’ve recently been boating out of the northwest angle and miss this side of LOTW.

I recognize those southern Wisconsin birds! Although my pix aren’t as sharp as yours. They all love the oranges in May. Even the red bellied woodpeckers and robins partake.

This is my favorite pic of Lake of the Woods from 2003 that I took. The pelican that happened to be flying by was perfect. I have so much anxiety about the US declaring a trade war with Canada that you’ll ban us from coming. I absolutely need LOTW to restore my soul!

We have them hammering our suet in the frigid upper Midwest right now. I was able to keep them around last spring by putting out oranges last year. A remarkably colored bird when you contrast it with the flock of brown sparrows!

Gotta love those LOTW sunsets! This one is the northwest angle in June.

Reminds me of this one I took a couple years ago. Bees love Alliums.
