I never heard a speech that good from Trudeau. Also, Carney is competent.

I just think it's unlikely. It seems that one or both of Bo and/or Blue Jays weren't enamored enough with each other this go around. I don't see the Jays offering a significant long term deal after another year passes. And a short term deal would still need to be very lucrative at that point.

I think that ship will have sailed

Terrible precedent. Give up Greenland, Canada could easily be next. Not EU or world‘s fault that a madman is on the loose. Presenting a united NATO front against his actions is the move. Pressure should be on U.S to reign him in.

Feeds lunch. Lol. Little WiFi was eating pretty well himself then.

The Ottawa Senators are now 2nd last in the Eastern Conference. Behind those lowly Toronto Maple Leafs. Pity.

Yep, they overvalued having two superstar wingers (the least important of the 4 positions of C/W/D/G). They thought Reilly/Muzzin was enough and/or they could just magically find a top end D from outside of their system without parting with a premium asset. They were wrong.

I think a Bruins style retool is more likely. I think you wait another year on Matthews decision but agreed can't let him walk. But I think you need to keep Knies (too young). Nylander too. Cowan/Danford/young goalies obviously keep. Can get decent hauls for support pieces. Pray for good drafts.

This approach might feel good fan wise but it's fantasy land. A yrs long rebuild affects so many people in org. + sponsors, revenue losses, merchandise, marketing opportunities, further degradation of the brand etc. Trading 34/88 has years long potential repercussions. Tough pill for Pelley et all

Habs have sustained excellence? Since when, the 70's/80's? The lowly Leafs have more regular season and playoff wins than the Habs since '93. Habs cheerleaders planning parades for October success seems more like the Leafs you love to criticize.

If a college coach doesn’t want to play you at C then it doesn’t bode well for sticking at centre in the pros. He looks like a winger.
November 8, 2025 at 3:08 AM
Pitch counts are a thing. Also, he’s never pitched on a back to back before. It’s possible they want him tomorrow too. All of it factors in.

Pinch hitter. Dodgers have 4 lefties in bullpen. Gives them something to think about for match ups.
October 24, 2025 at 4:04 PM
I also reject the notion that this team has been talented. They have never had a talented defense or talented goalies. They have hated Rielly on PP for yrs. The talent has literally been those 3 fwds+JT but two of them were soft wingers (least important position in hockey). We overrated them.
October 22, 2025 at 3:05 PM
I think the poor possession numbers last yr concern me a bit. That said, they had 102 pts two yrs ago with Samsonov playing 40 games at .890pct. The D core was atrocious, Reaves/Gregor 4th line, Tavares only 65 pts, Marner missed 13 gms. Division is better but still.
October 2, 2025 at 9:39 PM
It's surprising how many people are against Cowan making it. Jarnkrok scores at 4g/82gp rate in playoffs. He's not a solution either. He can still be kept and scratched for now anyway so you don't lose him. Berube has successfully integrated similar rookies like Thomas and Neighbours in STL.

I guess the good news is Leafs are at 41.9 this year for this stat. They better have a good 3rd line cause that's where the money went.

Yes Pete. Good message for Ukraine, Palestine, Greenland, Canada, Mexico etc.!!

"Go through the trouble" lol. A prospect poor organization doesn't want to get better assets for their players. Especially when they need said assets to load up every deadline as they always do. Got ya. You are all over the map dude. You probably have good arguments with the mirror in the morning.

Had everything to do with story since they were based on Roy's mkt value. But based on your ludicrous premise the notoriously well-run/cut-throat Vegas just handed over Roy instead of a random 3rd or 4th for no reason. You agree he's worth more so they were just too lazy to make a couple phone calls
September 29, 2025 at 5:21 PM
I used Laughton as one example (of 5!). He's not central to story. It seems your point was to downplay Leafs securing Roy for Marner. Vegas would be really stupid not to shop Roy for full market value then. I don't think they are stupid, Tre used his leverage to pressure Vegas. Solid work IMO.
September 29, 2025 at 4:31 PM
Like what? I am not talking about Laughton at all. Why do you keep making this about him. Leafs overpaid for Laughton. I am talking about Roy (who is better than Laughton). I proceed to list a bunch of Roy comparables that demonstrate he is worth more than a 3rd or your starting point of 4th.
September 29, 2025 at 4:08 PM
Lol, R. McLeod traded for Savoie (former 9th overall), R. Colton traded for 37th overall pick. C. Dvorak traded to Habs for 1st and 2nd. All summer deals for 3C's aged mid to late 20's. Seems the market is set man. Clear evidence and other comments here say that you are wrong about Roy's value.
