I tried getting some help to improve my websites, but it turned out to be a waste of money. They offered me a guarantee of some leads, even though what I really wanted was clients. What I got was excuses and no clients or leads. A waste of time and money.

As business slowed, I began writing more on substack and many other places in hopes of more exposure. That’s helped, but not enough. I’m writing on Medium, Quora, and now Bluesky. All of this helps, and the good thing is that I love to write, so it’s not work.

One reason for loss of business is unfair competition from companies asking authors to submit their books with the pretense of being traditional publishers who will print and distribute their books at no cost. Actually they charge excessive fees for their services.

I help authors to self-publish and maintain full control of their book and the income from sales. I also help some who openly admit that their book is a vanity project to share the book with family and friends. After over 15 years business has dried up and I trying to resolve that problem.
