The lack of self-awareness in making this statement aside, it's not like he lit up the Raiders. The defense did. It's one start, but I do not trust this doomed poverty franchise to identify and develop QB talent at an elite level.

This is the Edmund Fitzgerald laid up at the American Ship Building Yards in Lorain, Ohio, for the winter of 1974-75. Baby me lived just a few miles away when this was taken. My grandparents lived almost within sight of this location and had often seen the Fitz over the years.
