I'm not arguing against the effects of any of these restrictions. Show me an example of that and I'll own it. The opposition doesn't care about facts but there is a broad middle that will listen to a disengenuous argument leveraging a misstatement. I've seen it - haven't you?

I don't care about moderates or political respectability. I care about winning. Most of my life, my "side" has made slow progress and then big losses. MIsstating facts doesn't help at all - things are bad enough as it is. Why give them an excuse to dismiss the actual bad crap as fake news?

You and I can disagree. Exaggerating or misstating facts gives our opponents a tool to dismiss all that is said. The facts are on our side - when they are, you lean into those facts.

Some people support Trump's actions. Dramatic, inflammatory, and wrong claims allow them to ignore the real damage that is being done and argue that because Harvard isn't banning trans people, all the other stuff is fake news. That's my point, let's give them fewer openings.
