When you're a tech billionaire you can just say things and they're reported as fact.

I can excuse forced birth, but I draw the line at, uh, asking our hideously unpopular leaders to stop attempting epic clap backs.

The bar they're establishing is so low, but it has to be done, what with Tesla leading us to usability hell.

Today I learned that in today's America if you allow your 10 year old child to walk with their 7 year old brother for 3 sidewalked blocks to meet their other parent, then you will both be charged with multiple felonies and imposed with $1.5 million bail bonds.

This is from Joe Crowley, the first pol to get rocked by DSA (AOC). I love this suggestion; sure he's on track to win a strict majority of the NYC primary electorate during a media frenzy and historic turnout, but really, is that *real* diverse representation? What about e.g. police-Americans?

Doubly ironic that he blocked me on Twitter for suggesting that he just call things neoliberal if he doesn't want progressives muddying the definitions. Forty years old and has no idea where his very well trod ideology comes from.

Every quote tweet on here that's not "I agree with this completely and think the person who said it is real cool" is about an hour away from being detached, deleted, blocked, or all of the above. Obviously happened on old Twitter some but it's epidemic here.

There's gotta be a way to challenge the constitutionality of a state taking control of something but simultaneously mandating that one and only one city must pay *more* into it. It can't just be that the majority can pick any district and make its residents their piggy bank.

People like Yglesias (pretend to) believe that IQ-obsessed once-crypto-but-now-polite fascists are less of a threat to gender and racial minorities than the median voter. Hard not to conclude that that's because it describes them too, but that they want to keep their influence in the left party.

A funny little paragraph in that Walz piece. Gee, thanks for that raw truth, I can see how you need anonymity to go out on such a limb.

Politico reported on the takeaways from a recent strategy session and one of them is self-parody:

Democrats should “move away from the dominance of *small-dollar* donors whose preferences may not align with the broader electorate”

Notable that the editors of the Atlantic and the New York Times agree with them on all of these, though of course number zero for them is students protesting against genocide.

I thought @kenklippenstein.bsky.social was just being hyperbolic, but wow:

Just make sure it's one of these labels; most of those cage free grass fed etc. claims are totally unregulated, especially with regard to animal welfare.

Sitting D congressman clarifies the centrist position: the tens of thousands of Palestinian children slaughtered by our weapons deserved to die, whereas insurance CEOs who make fortunes denying Americans life saving care are the true innocents.

This is ironic because you are dunking on people for not reading your entire oeuvre before criticizing you but it doesn't even seem like you read the 3-tweet thread. He clearly implied you have now written about Gaza.

When they nominate Adolf IV for president in 2032 they're gonna say we made them do it by slandering the honorable JD Vance.

Yes, and more broadly but less strongly: white and views religion as important.

The only players in the top 20 of Basketball Reference's Hall of Fame probabilities that made it past the first round were Kyrie and Jokic. Jokic just went down in the second. Feels like the end of an era.

I keep thinking about this statement. Nice that they disavow mob violence against their political enemies but jarring shift in tone in the course of two sentences. The protestors are horrifying antisemites that should be arrested, but also they are our friends who we respect.

Great essay from Edroso about what Trump's biggest fans most enjoy of him; cruelty, yes, but more specific.
