Our tutorial focuses on 3 examples with 3 different membrane models: tube pulling, tubulation and fluctuations. We hope this concise guide will draw people into this exciting and dynamic research space. This work is a joint effort with Maitane MB, Felix F, Miguel A, Adam P and Anđela Š.

This work aims at distilling the current state of mesoscale membrane simulations and providing a conceptual guide for developing them. Most importantly, we have hands-on tutorials with an easy-to-use github repo tinyurl.com/bd8u3xh4 so that readers can get stuck in with their own simulations.

Computational membrane models are powerful tools to study membrane biophysics. Nonetheless, simulating fluid lipid membranes can be challenging because 1) the variety of models 2) the need for knowledge at the interface of biology, physics and computation.
