A while back I stood in a new home development office in Texas seeking info on newly constructed homes.
A lady came into the office and asked "Is there any bus service in the development?"

Yep, as I've been posting for a week. All oil is not equal. To make VZ heavy oil marketable you have to first overcome the horribly low API, recognize at most a 10% recovery factor, and then probably buy a bunch of diluent, before processing.
The "Wildcaters" trumpers mentioned will have no clue.

Yes, but there are only a couple refineries that can handle heavy or sour crude. That's it. They currently import heavy crude from Canada and sell it on the export market for triple what they paid. They don't use it for the US market. So this VZ gambit is yet another Trump grift.

Be careful to distinguish between oil reserves and oil resource.
Reserve must be economic to produce. Resource just needs to be able to be pulled out of the ground by well or shovel.
VZ crude is more of the shovel variety. Not good.

Be careful. All oil is not equal. A better graph would be the economic value of the crude by country. Venezuela would shrink to less than a tenth of what it is, if not further.

But they are misled (in many ways). Venezuelan crude won't affect price at all. It is about the most expensive crude in the world refine and transport. Much more expensive than current supply. They price would have to go up to cover it.

One additional thing to realize is that Venezuelan rude is terrible stuff. Breakeven is about $85, and that is *if* you have the refining capability.
So, if things go Trump's way, Venezuelan crude will displace Canadian heavy oil imports in about 8 years.

Heathrow is horrible for wheelchair service. I can walk but every step is painful, even more so if I have to do about a half mile in a day. So as Heathrow can be a massive walk, I arrived 4 hours early to be able to get to the lounge near the gate. They refused to take me for nearly 3 hours.
