Yes, but don't stop there! Google tracks you ruthlessly, ditch it fully. Use DDG browser to block trackers (for the love all that's holy stop using Chrome). On your phone, try Organic Maps instead of Google Maps. Proton for email/cal/drive.

Caught part of it, good stuff!

Sounds more like me doing Neal Augenstein.

I'm already pretty much in boycott mode. I don't do Target, Walmart, bare minimum of Amazon but I cut out Prime. Basically little to no big/corporate spending, I shop local religiously. I'm mostly off Google. Still on Meta sadly.

I played in @dotdashdc.bsky.social, named for this song.

Yeah, that took me a few passes through ;)

Yep, I’m here

Well, the football moments I mean
October 7, 2025 at 2:43 PM
I only went to a few games in my life, but saw pretty much every one of the moments on TV. Def a part of my emotional landscape as a DC native.

Seems more a credit to the guy for just hanging in there until they gave up.

Can ya? CAN YA??
October 6, 2025 at 6:58 PM
Oh wow, wish I could see that. He’s definitely a hero to me (even though he rejects the idea of heroes :). I saw Invasion when it came to DC years back and managed to meet and even hang with him briefly. An experience I’ll never forget.
October 6, 2025 at 6:57 PM
I will, thanks. I wasn’t actually responding directly *at* you :), it’s more that what I did see got me thinking/triggered generally about the individual actions thing.
October 6, 2025 at 6:53 PM
For a senator, policy is individual action. For an activist it means activist-ing. For a business owner it’s business practices. For an artist it’s striving for things like relevance, resonance, beauty, poetry etc that sustain us and help us imagine the future.
October 6, 2025 at 3:43 PM
And, individual actions doesn’t just mean things like bringing your own straw. It means each person leveraging their skills, platforms, roles, etc.
October 6, 2025 at 3:43 PM
It doesn’t help that individual actions are often so denigrated. Instead of nurturing an ‘every little bit helps’ mentality, we are told that only big, top-down solutions will have a chance. What’s bigger than millions of people doing their little parts together?

Ugh

I’m going through and unfollowing a slew of folks, see if livens up Bluesky for me. Starting with those who only repost, I want to know what you actually have to say. Also some big ones like Takai, Marc Elias, others that are purely a one way street. I’m more in ‘help the quiet/arty poster’ mode.

What can I plant in the fall, mainly in outdoor pots? Rosemary maybe?
October 6, 2025 at 1:57 AM
Very cool. Esp for one day of work. Power on.
October 6, 2025 at 1:52 AM
Engagement - or lack of - is becoming an issue in Bluesky
October 6, 2025 at 1:43 AM
Oh man, yeah. Though I was using those exact ones in my classes until two years ago, so more current for me.
October 6, 2025 at 1:39 AM
Fair point, hadn’t thought of that. I already thought the name and logo were offensively banal.
