On Ben White, the right hand side, and also Bukayo Saka. 12 months ago Ben White and Saka were the darlings of this football team. I remember because I was at my mate’s wedding, who also supports Arsenal, at the time. Yesterday, Saka’s first EPL assist in year. White has been out for roughly that.

Still got this his 10 shirt hanging up in my closet, but Ødegaard clearly fits the team miles better for what we’re setting out to do.
I had to work during the game, but accidentally caught that it finished 2-2. I can’t blame him there even when i knew it was about to come with rewatching the game

MLS and Ethan really need to work on their ball retention in general assuming that’s why they didn’t make it on last night. I’d heard @clivepafc.bsky.social mention that you know Raya gets beaten by a rocket in the first half while on his line and comes then for this one idk you can really blame him

Maybe the substituting could be better planned in retrospect. Idk if we had won it would be be a non-starter. Imo though Norgard would have been the sub id have made for Merino but we needed more attackers on the pitch.

I don’t think there’s ever been a more stodgy team in football in the past couple years that this band of Mikel’s merry men. The fact that the player who got the 1-0 winner in both previous league fixtures was also the most likely figure to be hauled off in fans’ eyes too shows those simple margins

The pass was so good it stoped right where it needed to — like a croquet shot — and if he had rushed out, I think he’d would’ve been cooked by Isak. I basically get tired of non-keepers trying to tell goalies how ‘conditionally’ they would have acted when really it’s the wrong instinct too often rly

As a goalie: that’s one of the hardest quick decisions you have to make because you can’t tell the amount of drag and pace of the action ‘til the last second when the ball stops and then you can be stuck in no-man’s-land and the forward just need a simple touch to go round and have an easy tap in…
