Today’s Republicans have been playing the long game since Newt Gingrich was Speaker and it paid off. Focus on issues most Americas support so you won’t be such an easy target and nominate candidates who can win elections and not just nominations.

You need to be a more centrist party that focuses on bread and butter issues. You would not be abandoning vulnerable constituents, you would be building trust with voters that can be educated. You can’t get voters to listen if you are not listening to them.

I have become more liberal as I get older. I have lived long enough to recognize baloney and hate when I see it.
