But the case was still dismissed, meaning it will have to be refiled anew. But the statue of limitations will have run at that point. That's the problem as I see it.

It will still be too little, too late. Jack Smith rolled over and surrendered after the election. Instead of moving to dismiss the January 6th case, he should have asked the judge to keep it open on the docket until Trump is no longer president.

As a quibbling accountant who used to understand spreadsheets, I only see 3 generations of ancestors. Where’s your Dutch side? In NY and PA? And Bavaria? You must be corrupted with Catholic genes after all.
Almost all my ancestors immigrated here 4 generations back. Except the French-350 years ago.

This article was quite educational for me. I was aware of this feast day, but somehow had the idea that these martyrs were killed by the communists during the 20th century Vietnam War, rather than in the 1800s.

They should be looking for candidates with different backgrounds. There are too many bishops who have never worked as the pastor of a parish. They have worked their way up as canon lawyers or professors. Promising young priests go to post-grad studies and do that kind of work. And become bishops.
