Zoraya ter Beek story is beyond heart breaking. Still trying to process it.

In the Netherlands in 2023, there were 9068 euthanasia deaths, which is 5.4% of all deaths.

On average, it is a little over 24 people per day.

In that year, on average every hour, some Dutch doctor broke the hippocratic oath and deliberately killed the patient.
I'm not a doctor, so this question may sound stupid, but couldn't people who suffer unbearably be put into coma instead of euthanasia?

It could buy years of time to find an effective treatment for their suffering 🤔

Why is Netherlands so obsessed with death?

They killed Zoraya and so many others, and they continue to kill thousands of people every year and I'm sick of it.

Don't they realise that it is NOT normal?

On a tiktok there is this "Anesthesia challenge" where people before surgery competing who can count to highest number before falling unconscious.

It's pretty quick.

I imagine that euthanasia procedure looks exactly the same, except they never wake up again.
Terrifying 🤔😨

To be honest, I'm not even sure that I care about euthanasia law anymore 🤔

If I was presented with a choice between abolishing euthanasia worldwide or punishing people who let Zoraya die, I would probably choose the latter.

Need for justice seems stronger than anything else 🤷‍♂️

My trauma from being metaphorical witness to Zoraya's suicide has yet another consequence.

Now, if I know somebody who supports euthanasia/assisted suicide, I conclude that they are a horrible person.

I feel no empathy, just pure anger towards them, and I treat them as such 🤷‍♂️

This is Philippe Mahoux.

He is Belgian politician that played the most significant role in Legalisation of euthanasia in Belgium back in 2002.

In 2014 Belgium extended euthanasia law to minors without any age limit, and Philippe Mahoux again was one that was advocating for it.

This is Els Borst.

She played a key role in the legalisation of Euthanasia in the Netherlands back in 2001 (which makes her responsible for Zorayas' death, too). 😡😡

Anyways, in 2014, she died from 41 stab wounds.

What a horrible legacy she left behind 🤦‍♂️

Why does every generation think that the end of the world will happen during their lifetime?

For me, the world ends when I die, so in that sense they are all correct, own death = end of the world 🤷‍♂️

On the holocaust memorial day, I think it is appropriate to highlight the roots of modern #euthanasia program, that is currently in place in Netherlands, Belgium, Canada and others.
Never again, right? 🤦‍♂️

We all know that funerals are for the living, not for the dead, right?
The idea is to comfort people left behind.
Therefore it's disingenuous and arrogant for young people on euthanasia route to plan their own funerals.
Do you really want to comfort your relatives?
DON'T DIE!

Why to FUCK I didn't know about Zoraya at least 1 year earlier.
She was euthanized before I had a chance to see her tweets.

I think there is a reason why so many people are rooting for the antihero character #Dexter .
It's the same reason why so many people are rooting for #Luigimangione .

It's because there is a fundamental need for true justice that current law and justice system doesn't provide.

I don't think that anyone ever fully appreciated the brutality of Zorayas murder.
#euthanasia is a brutal procedure.
Every act, no matter how silent and calm, that ends with someone dying is brutal.

Stop romanticising death

Killing someone is this forbidden, irredeemable act, and it's not really possible to come back from it.
How are some people able to cross that line and not go insane?
How can #euthanasia practitioner be able to explain their work to their child?

Even in a remote possibility that Elon did that salute on accident (he didn't) his reaction to the backlash pretty much proved that he knew what he was doing 🙄

He didn't go "oops, I didn't mean to look like a nazi", he went "look, stupid liberals calling me a Hitler 😃"

There is something dark and sinister about sharing own euthanasia process.

It's unbelievable how such "suicide-sharing" has become normalised in the Netherlands.
January 21, 2025 at 10:45 AM
Tomorrow it's going to be 8 months since they have killed Zoraya.
She has been on my mind every single day during those 8 months and it has been a torture.
Shame on Netherlands!

I still get physically ill to my stomach when I imagine what her last 5 minutes on earth looked like.
People standing there, waiting for her to die ⚰️

Medical professionals who support #euthanasia are traitors.

The ones who are opposed to it should be more vocal.

This is one of those issues where silence is often misunderstood as agreeing with the opposition.

The more I think about Zoraya (and other euthanasia victims) the more I realise how she wasn't loved.

Loved person don't want to die, regardless of the own pain.
It's truly heartbreaking

Look how casually she is talking about her euthanasia. She is excited about the process.
As if suicide was some sort of achievement.

She is one of the people who believes that Zoraya is better off dead, so I don't have much sympathy left for her.
Still, death is not a solution
January 14, 2025 at 7:46 AM
Since I was a kid, I always hated funerals, and I often stayed outside during it.
Why?
Because they put actual dead body on display.
Am I the only one who finds it extremely morbid and nauseating?
January 12, 2025 at 3:22 PM
#euthanasia, as a practice, does not only normalise and trivialise suicide, but it also normalise and trivialise murder.

The doctor, that you entrust your well being in today, may have ended someone else's life yesterday.

Such a bizzare, yet real occurrence.
