Agree that the maddening regularity of Niner special teams’ screwups should challenge Kyle’s hubris toward them. Also, I never understood Staley’s role (on Niner D), nor heard his name mentioned during the season. And now he’s a candidate to be the new DC?

And 49er fans complained about his lousy pass coverage earlier in the season that contributed to our critical losses to division opponents. Good riddance.

Don't know if you've written about it before but I'd be curious to read your views comparing Joe Lacob to Eddie D. I see similarities -- particularly win at any cost, no matter the human shrapnel that's left behind. But can't criticize 4 or 5 championship rings!
