Me too. R01 non-competing renewal 4/1- no news. Plus 2 percentile new R01, past Sept Council, 7 months overdue for NOA. NIH remains frozen.

If you want something truly disgusting do that same thing but swap the beef for canned tuna. We had that maybe once every two weeks, usually before pay day.

This is why we need more NIH investment in gene editing and delivery systems. The long-term payout is huge, but needs to be de-risked and more cost effective first. That needs to happen with govt investment that is not tied to the whims of shareholders.

I don't understand how biotech has become winner-take-all/ there-can-be-only-one. There should be multiple solutions and options for SCD gene editing, from many companies. Plenty of room.
