Fine with it, and understood it, along with “Sword of Damocles”, which came from one of his favorite stories. The end of “What’s Good” hits like a ton of bricks:

“What’s good/
Life’s good/
But not fair at all”.

I lost my father in law on 1/8 to cancer, from his second bout with cancer. The second round was faster moving. I sent him a copy of the song, as he was a fan of VU in the 1960’s and actually saw them once in concert. I was worried about my MIL’s sensitives to art that may offend her, but he…

Following up day 17 post:

“What’s Good” definitely makes you think about the absurdities of life, but understanding the difficulties of losing that person in your life to cancer. I didn’t understand the song as much in 1992, at 17. Now, hitting 50 this year, it definitely resonates…

I love the atmosphere of “I’m Not in Love”. Way ahead of its time.

Day 17: A song you’d sing a duet with someone on karaoke:

I would never do karaoke, nor duet with people doing it. I would nominate Simon and Garfunkel’s “My Little Town”.
Something poppy, but disturbing.

It’s a classic to me, and a favorite.

…garbage,
She repaired legs like a doctor,
On the kitchen chairs we sat on.

She was unhappy, just as you were,

Unhappy, just as you were.
Unhappy, just as you were,
Unhappy, just as you were.

Damn. I heard that and it reminded me of my mom.
I told her and played it for her,
As for someone who…
