main difference for your setup is that the new ver. can tell your PC that the phone is a new monitor instead of just copying an existing one, so games can properly go full screen on it instead of having black bars. lots more minor QOL things, if you have it working without issues I wouldn't bother.

With Lance's moveset so ingrained in my muscle memory, I'm exploiting every wound. Charge Blade could do so much more per wound, but I don't have the fundamentals in the same way so I'm often not able to keep the monster pinned down.

I think it's an experience thing for sure. I've been trying out Charge Blade for the first time thanks to the second slot, and fights I do with that take 25-50% longer than when I pull out my old faithful, the Lance. Most of that difference is the wounds.
