The Servant (1963) is claustrophobic, sleek, and extraordinarily well acted. The cinematography is haunting and brittle, the jazz score gives a hallucinatory air, and Harold Pinter’s screenplay is so unsentimental and vicious that it cuts to the bone. #classiccinema #filmbuff
