Yes. That’s true. But a lot of what happens financially is not tied to their personal pocketbook. The revenue those other teams bring in is so insane that they could spend even more than they do, pay the luxury tax and still not care about how much it costs.

It’s not apples to apples. Sure, could the Twins spend more - yup. And I wish they would. But even if they did they can not spend like the big market teams. They simply don’t have the revenue. If they signed Tucker they’d have exactly no more money to spend on other players.

So let’s see. Twins that have a small market team with far less revenue outside of MLB related funds than is generated by the Dodgers. Therefore the Dodgers, like Yankees and Mets and Phillies have much more money - outside of the money in their owners pockets - to spend. A lot more.

It’s not enough to have a billionaire owner there are so many other factors that bring in more team revenue. The Twins will never ever be a threat again. Zero chance.
