It’s context driven for me. It jams at his shows fs! And I loved when he’d have just 1 or 2 joints like that on a record. He don’t gotta go all the way back to DD stuff tho…I’ll take Tangible Dream era tho.

Big Oddisee fan but I feel like his last few joints have gotten progressively worse.Been trying to put my finger on it, but so far the best I can come up with is the it’s the production. He found a great lane with the live band/tour vibe but I feel like it’s creeped too far into his studio records.

Yeah labels and shit play too big a role in all this. He might’ve been better indie route .

He’s dope, MORE BLACK SUPERHEROES was one of my favs of 22. That said he kind of slots awkwardly..not as gangster as YG, not as charismatic as Vince Staples, not as “lyrical” as Kendrick etc.
